| Backstory: King Nargir can trace his lineage back to Krun Bitaran, son of Krun. He was born to rule the forest and in doing so, he inherited his grandfather’s war and treachery against the King of Melkn. | Story Excerpt: “Jump lord and end your suffering.” Said a familiar voice that made Morelin turn sharply. King Nargir looked nothing like when Morelin had last seen him. His brown hair reached far down his back and many green leaves grew within. The roots under his eyes covered most of his face and Morelin saw other growths over his arms. His eyes were bright and full of strength and knowledge. “Or you could push me king.” Morelin said hopelessly, “For I have broken your banishment.” King Nargir smiled, “This I know well. You have been watched since you entered the woods and I know all that my daughter and the king said.” He regarded Morelin closely, “Where are you going?” “To the north. To live out my life in those wastes.” “The reason for your banishment is the same reason my daughter now abandons the woods?” He said questioningly. “It is your grace. My love betrayed me and so I betrayed my vows.” “It seems it is in your blood.” Then the king grew angry, his voice full of power, “Continue your march forward fool. I would not have the lands of the woods tainted with such blood as yours.” From a nearby tree, provisions were dropped. King Nargir pointed at them, “Go Morelin Diactra and never step foot in my woods again.” |
