The Tempter

Power: The Tempter is a result of the curse of the Ilma. Through an unknown grief he became a being of temptation, trapped on earth. He is the voice in the back of your head, the desire in your subconscious. Often his powers are without a goal and he is blown by the wind of humanities desires but every so often he will interfere in earths affairs. Often this occurs when the universe is threatened by the interference of Agral. Appearance: The Tempter is often seen as a decaying figure. His brown cloak and hood are moth eaten and his black suit is old. He carries a walking stick, showing his travels around the world.

Story Excerpt:    ‘That was not the aim.’ The Tempter moved towards him, but Tom wasn’t sure he saw the ghost take a single step, ‘Does that battlefield look like this island?’ Tom thought back to the dark field, illuminated only by fire. It could have been this place, ‘These events will happen.’ The Tempter continued, ‘You both decided to part ways so you know you can win this fight without her.’    Tom stepped back, head shaking, ‘What fight?’      ‘The universe will soon be at war. The Abgdonese, the righteous ilma.’ That was said with scorn, ‘Will go to war with Ilmgral. I have done all that I can to prevent it but I am subject even to the God’s of this universe. I do what I can but one stronger than me, Agral the vassal of death, stirs these events. The God’s thought the ilma could hold them back from their petty jealousies, but they were wrong and have created something worse than they could ever be. They want to rid the universe of this threat. They want to wipe out the graul and the ilma, leaving them the unchallenged masters of all life.’ A rotten hand was placed on Tom’s shoulder, ‘I will not allow it. I have found you to help me win this war and so you have been marked.’ The hand touched the wound at Tom’s neck, that tickled with pain.
